Translating adoption into value realization requires proper scaffolding and infrastructure in healthcare organizations

Overview

Digital tools are now playing a major role in the strategies of leading health systems, but the ability to achieve value is still uneven. This paper seeks to discern the fundamental infrastructure necessary to transform innovation into ongoing operational and clinical outcomes. Instead of rush or quantity of adoption, we addressed the issue of capacity, specifically, governance maturity, integration skill, and feedback accuracy. The framework we presented enables a systematic way to align technology investments with enterprise goals, integrate into workflows, and set up processes for ongoing measurement and improvement. By treating scaffolding the system rather than proliferating tools, health systems can create sustainable paths for technology-enabled change.
